Enzo Marciante debuted in 1969 in the professional comic, publishing Fox & Z strip for the Genoese daily Il Corriere Mercantile.
In 1970 he published with Sagep one of his most successful work, Storia di Genova, a four-volume saga which earned him the Silver Palm at the Bordighera Salon of Humor.
In the same years, he created also Pisquino da Volastra, important character to whom four episodes of adventures would be dedicated.
In 1974, Marciante illustrated Colombo Ammiraglio dell'Oceano, working at the same time on fairy tales and documentaries for several national publishers; he realized Il Milione by Marco Polo for Mursia Publisher and collaborated with several children magazines: for Il Corriere dei Piccoli have been famous series such as Il Mago Ignazio, Storia delle Invenzioni and La Rivoluzione Francese; for the weekly magazine Più, the series L’ispettore Bobop and Fata Bertilla. He was part of the Bierecci Studios, headed by Luciano Bottaro and Giorgio Rebuffi, and in cooperation with Bottaro, he illustrated a couple of Donald Duck stories for Topolino.
In later years, he has been active in animations for websites and educational CD-roms, realizing for Rizzoli Multimedia in 1995 his first Cd-rom, Leonardo Da Vinci e il segreto della Gioconda. After having published in 2004 Storia del Porto di Genova, in recent years he created historical series such as I Mille Live and Atlantis, C'sir Principessa Shardana e la Cassa Nuziale trafugata. In 2017 he published La leggenda di Genova a fumetti - 2000 a.c. le origini, offering a further entertaining episode to his documented and personalised representation of Genoese history.
