Born in Genoa in 1966, Andrea Ferraris has been collaborating with Disney Italia for 25 years, illustrating books and drawing covers, but mainly creating comic strips.
In 2006 he moved to Barcelona, where he started working on Donald Duck stories for the Danish publisher Egmont.
He produced illustrations and comics for Alias and La Lettura within Il Manifesto and Il Corriere della Sera newspapers.
He collaborated with L’Internazionale magazine.
In 2011 he published with Tenué publisher his first graphic novel Bottecchia, based on Ottavio Bottecchia, the first Italian cyclist to win a yellow shirt in the Tour de France in the 1920s.
The book won the price for the Best Debut Novel at Romics, the International Comics Festival in Rome.
From 2013 to 2016 he lived in Paris where he had the chance to complete Churubusco, his first work as full author, a tale about the epic and dramatic story of Saint Patrick Battalion.
Churubusco was released in Italy for Coconino Press-Fandango, in France for Rackham Editions, in Mexico for La Cifra Editorial, and in USA for Fantagraphic.
From 2017 lives and works in Turin.
